Cellmark, best known as a leading provider of DNA testing for forensic and paternity analysis, has recently been approved by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) to provide COVID-19 testing at its Abingdon laboratory.
Cellmark’s COVID-19 workplace testing service for health care professionals, companies and organisations uses a PCR based ‘antigen’ test. It is a rapid, sensitive testing service with electronic results delivered within 24 hours of receipt of the samples at Cellmark’s laboratories. DHSC approval is a recognition that the laboratory’s testing service has been fully validated and meets all the DHSC’s stringent requirements for the provision of COVID-19 testing.
COVID-19 testing is provided from Cellmark’s laboratories in Abingdon, Oxfordshire and also at Chorley, Lancashire and builds on the Company’s extensive bioscience expertise, world-class laboratory facilities and strong customer service philosophy. To support this UK wide service Cellmark can also provide an on-site sample collection service.
